Kizzy Hett: The largest wake comes from a DEEP DISPLACEMENT HULL that is being pushed to the point where it wants to plane
Valentine Michaud: Depends on the boat hull type, speed, weight and a few other factors. Powered Cruisers have the largest wakes as far as private boats go. Bigger/heavier the boat the bigger the wake. My 26' Express Cruiser throws a 3' wake at 18 mph at a distance of 50' behind the boat. I know this because we use this vessel to "Wake Surf" at the lakes. The wake is very natural and curls just right starting at 11 mph and drops off at speeds above 22 mph (Speeds are measured via GPS). Sang Hanafin: master craft
Becky Mosena: haha nice, I love vessel wake surfing!
Chadwick Schmelz: Short displacement hulls going faster than hull speed make the most wake. I'd guess a tugboat going flat-out as they have enormously powerful engines and are ! quite short
