Adan Stribble: Slightly worn "timing belt?" Sorry but no one can see the "timing belt" unless it is removed from the engine. It is covered. There is a belt that drives the alternator, coolant pump and other accessories. A slight wear is normal and this is one belt that any shop can replace for 1/2 what a dealership charges. Bushings. What bushings? There are so many but at 80,000 miles? A squeaky sound on the left side? Look, I think you are being super extra cautious. You need to find a shop other than this dealership. Wheel bearing last 200,000 miles. But one wheel bearing for $376 sound excessive. Go some where else and get estimates. This bearing thing sounds fishy to me. Ask somewhere else....Show more
Jeremy Donohue: Yes, when it hits that 80k-90k mileage things like serpentine belt, spark plugs, oxygen sensors, etc. start to show wear and tear. If you have your owners manual it should list exactly what type of maintenance to do at certain milestones. I drive! a Toyota and it gives detailed instruction for what to inspect and replace at every 10k miles. For example, at one point it recommended a transmission fluid change only if the car was being driven in harsh conditions but I did it anyway. Check the owners manual and since you are at 80k I would do a diagnostic test on the car to see exactly what's going on....Show more
