Chris Wilczewski: There are several renowned Korean entertainment companies, like the Big 3: SM, YG, JYP; and others which are less popular but similarly successful like CUBE, Pledis, TS, DSP and Woollim.Firstly, you've got to ask yourself why you would want to be a Kpop idol. Do you want to be one just for the sake of meeting your favourite idols and being able to interact with them? Is it because you just have the feel of trying it out? Or do you want to be one because you sincerely want to make good music? If you join companies like SM or CUBE, it is very likely you would have to undergo plastic surgery or at the most, have fillers injected. If you do not wish to do so, you can consider auditioning for YG or JYP.You might also want to consider the income. It's been reported that SM absorbs 70% of profits and only 30% is given to the artists. If you feel that this is unfair or that it is nothing different from being controlled, you can eliminate this choice immediately. ! YG gives artists 60% of profits, and as for looks, YG does not ask for much. IMO, I feel that you should audition for YG, since they focus more on talent than on looks. Best of luck(:...Show more
Arden Strachn: Personally I think you suit SM entertainment but make sure you know about there company what I mean is there contract agreements etc. Sometimes they do take advantage of foreigners in my opinion but your an honour student don't think your stupid lol. But yeah try out for SM hopefully you do get it have confidence goodluck :) Also if you have time you could try out for the other companies aswell such as JYP, YG, Pledis, CubeGoodluck Goodluck Goodluck...Show more
Mario Stricklan: SM no longer makes trainees undergo surgery because they're trying to prove they aren't a bad company after the whole JYJ / Han Geng lawsuit. But, why do you want to get into K-Pop? Is it because Korean entertainment is your dream? If you want to get into K-Pop because you are obs! essed with K-Pop, want to see an Oppa, like Korea, etc, you ne! ed to really rethink the whys. Also, can you speak Korean fluently? SM and JYP are the only ones who consistently have English-language live auditions (Jellyfish and LOEN have English materials for online auditions, but I'm not sure about live auditions). If you're looking at CUBE, TS, YG, Starship, etc., prepare yourself for the fact the judges and the staff will speak Korean.Good luck!...Show more
Lewis Ranft: I'll answer the common question here! I've always wanted to go into the music industry ever since I was younger! When i was about 9 or 10 I heard Yoo Mi Rae and wanted to be just like her. (I know that I can't be her tough lol) It's always been a personal dream of mine to make a statement through music. Not everyone has to use auto-tune or has to be someone they don't want to be. I'm the type of person who likes their natural voice the way it is, and people always liked the way my voice sounded as well....Show more
Carmina Stickney: Wait you're half-Ko! rean but you have red hair and green eyes??? That's unique. You kind of do suit SM because of your height and everything. But if you really want to get full advantage of your talents then go for YG. Maybe FnC since you play instruments.
